Birds at Waiatarua Reserve
There are a
large range of forest and wetland birds that can be seen at Waiatarua
Reserve including the list below. It is a very pleasant walk round
the wetland or through the trees. One of our most spectacular visitors
(which infuriatingly was absent during a recent Forest and Bird
Society visit) is the white Egret. We originally had thought this
bird was a White heron or Kotuku, but have been told that it in
fact an Egret. If you are lucky enough to see it, let us know what
you think. If you see any other that are not on our list please
send us an email at Birds@inbox.waiatarua.com
